David Lowery has been writing and directing for the past twenty three years, which, perhaps coincidentally, is the same duration of time for which he's been alive. His second film, the 16mm short entitled Still, played to great acclaim at festivals in NY, LA, Dallas and Austin. Lowery has also worked as an editor for other filmmakers, including Deadroom collaborator and former roommate James M. Johnston. At the moment he is writing yet another screenplay to add to the pile of films he hopes to make one day. |
Skipping the lure of film school, James M. Johnston dove headlong into the challenges of making films by himself with his directorial debut, a horror film entitled The Knocker. The digitally shot thriller played well at festivals, and its success lead Tablegirl Productions to hire Johnston to direct their feature film, Mere Acquaintance (2003). In between these two directorial efforts, Johnston kept busy working on a variety of independent films and commercials. In addition to the screenplay for Deadroom, he has completed two feature screenplays, with two more on the way. | |||||||||||||
